The world of chargers can be a confusing place; with so much choice available it can be difficult to know which charger is the best for you. If you do not wish to go hunting through all of this information we have compiled a short list of chargers we recommend for various users.

Basic Charging

This Ansmann charger is the most basic charger in their range, it has no intelligence and simply puts a charge current into the inserted batteries for the duration the batteries remain in it. It is very cheap and the standard option comes with no batteries although we have put together some offers which include various sets of batteries.

This charger can charge AAA, AA and PP3 size batteries either NiCd or NiMh in around 11-22 hours depending on the capacity of the inserted battery. It has a simple compact design and a fixed UK 3-pin plug which plugs straight into the wall meaning there is no wires to get tangled or cause clutter.

Ultra fast Charging

If it is fast charging you are after then you can’t get much faster than the Ansmann DIGISPEED 4 ULTRA. The DIGISPEED 4 ULTRA is an ultra fast charger with the ability to charge certain batteries in under 1 hour. It has a special fan cooling technology and intelligent end of charge detection to ensure the inserted batteries won’t get damaged during charging or if you forget about them and leave the batteries charging for a long time. Once the batteries are fully charged, the charger switches to a low current trickle charge so leaving your batteries in the charger for longer than the stated charge time will not damage them.

This charger can charge AAA and AA, NiCd or NiMh batteries and comes supplied with 4 x 2600mAh high capacity NiMh AA batteries to get you up and running straight away.

Feature packed Charging

If you are looking for a charger which will ensure optimum conditioning of your rechargeable cells then the Ansmann Energy series offer the perfect solution. There are three chargers in this range but they all offer the same charging features with the only difference being the number and type of cells that can be charged.

Each of the chargers in this range offer: charging of NiCd and NiMh, worldwide use, end of charge detection with overcharge protection, individual supervision of cells, automatic battery analysis and refresh function, faulty cell detection and capacity quick test. These chargers are manufactured to the highest quality and are at the top end of the consumer charger market and the slightly high price indicates that, however you will ensure that you will get the maximum from all the rechargeable cells you use in the charger.
