Winners of the North East Chamber of Commerce Award for Innovation through Technology.

Local award winning battery company - Cell Pack Solutions Ltd is seeing positive results from their enterprise and hard work in recent months with increased orders and new products being introduced.

The South Shields based company specialises in manufacturing custom-made batteries for industrial applications and also supplies the public with batteries for just about anything.

Recently Cell Pack Solutions have won numerous awards for innovative e-commerce and ICT development within the company. The most recent award was the winning place at the 2004 Local North East e-commerce awards celebrated at the awards ceremony in Newcastle in June this year. They have also been nominated for the 2005 North East Chamber of Commerce awards.

Cell Pack Solutions Ltd is also pleased to announce that, after an in-depth assessment of their internal manufacturing procedures and customer service, they have been awarded certification to the quality standard ISO 9001: 2000.

Eddy Czestochowski, founder and managing directors said: "The development of our new Quality Management System is being implemented now and is formally adopted as our standard. The achievement of this major quality standard is testament to our commitment to the highest quality standard for manufacturing, customer services as well as satisfying statutory and regulatory requirements for the design and manufacture of specialist battery and industrial cell packs."

"We have an excellent reputation for finding the right battery. As well as our specialist industrial web sites, we now run several dedicated e-commerce web sites selling batteries for digital cameras, video cameras, cordless phones, and general batteries for any application, the list is endless."

Because of the companies' expertise in custom manufacture and their first-class reputation for customer service, large international battery manufacturers such as Uniross and Sonnenschein have agreed long term main distributor status for Cell Pack Solutions further strengthening their market position.

The company has recently employed the services of two university undergraduates with the Inside Track placement scheme run by the Design Council and STEP (Shell Technology Enterprise Programme). They are applying their skills to take a critical look at the companies product design, manufacturing and on-line marketing techniques. Eddy said: " Graduates bring specialist up-to-date knowledge and help us to acquire new skills. Their input over the project has made a positive impact and we are adopting many of their recommendations. We did this last year and we are pleased to say, the young graduate who worked with us is now employed on a full time basis."

Cell Pack Solutions continues to grow and in the next year will be further developing their product range and marketing activities.
